What are the responsibilities and job description for the Color Technician position at Serigraph?
**10 hour Days**
**Monday-Thursday 6:30am-4:30pm**
Serigraph is looking for a talented Color Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing press-ready inks and solvents, ensuring color accuracy for first-piece inspections within customer specifications, and minimizing press downtime. You'll play a key role in supporting screening operations, managing ink and solvent inventory, and delivering precise color matches for new production runs and prototypes to meet customer requirements. \n- Optimize ink quantities to align with established standards for efficient operation.
- Formulate and fine-tune ink recipes to fulfill requirements for color, functionality, and visual appeal.
- Ensure precise color matching for screening purposes by providing accurate quantities.
- Produce prototypes as necessary to validate ink formula, application method, and color fidelity.
- Regularly update standard formulas to reflect current color specifications.
- Minimize press downtime attributable to ink-related issues.
- Maintain meticulous records of ink and solvent consumption.
- Conduct initial piece approvals and ongoing color checks during production.
- Perform incoming inspections on ink supplies.
- Organize materials in inventory and adhere to the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) method.
- Proficiency in adhering to departmental and company safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Exceptional mathematical aptitude.
- Demonstrated proficiency in color discrimination through a satisfactory score on the FM 100 Hue test for color technicians.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Ability to accurately interpret and comprehend job tickets.
