Serious Injury Law Group, a respected and client-centered law firm renowned for its tenacious representation, is actively seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal specializing in medical malpractice. In this pivotal position, the successful candidate will provide vital support to a team of three attorneys, including one located in our Fairburn office and two in Birmingham, GA. The ideal applicant will possess a deep understanding of the complexities involved in medical malpractice cases and a proven capacity to navigate litigation processes effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the preparation and review of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and subpoenas.
• Conduct legal research and fact-finding specifically related to the development of medical malpractice cases.
• Manage comprehensive trial preparation, coordinating evidence collection and maintaining meticulous case files.
• Organize and oversee electronic and paper files for optimal accessibility.
• Handle communications related to cases and manage attorneys’ schedules and deadlines.
• Prepare for and provide assistance during depositions, hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with clients, expert witnesses, and consultants as necessary.
• Aid in the settlement process by preparing agreements, releases, and related documents.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies.
  
  

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience as a Litigation Paralegal, particularly with medical malpractice cases.
• Strong understanding of legal principles and practices pertinent to civil litigation, especially medical malpractice.
• Ability to support multiple attorneys across various locations.
• Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage competing tasks and deadlines.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.

• Significant experience as a Litigation Paralegal with a focus on medical malpractice is required.
