Inventory Management Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team at Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC. As a key member of our supply chain operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of material planning, procurement, inventory control, and supplier management at our mattress manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Material Planning & Procurement:
  
  • Develop and execute material planning strategies to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
  • Monitor material usage and adjust orders based on demand fluctuations.
  • Closely work with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
• Inventory & Warehouse Management:
  
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent production disruptions.
  • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure proper storage, organization, and handling of materials.
  • Implement inventory control systems to track material flow and prevent shortages.
  • Regularly conduct inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
• Supply Chain & Logistics:
  
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to optimize material flow and transportation costs.
  • Work with logistics partners to streamline shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address material-related issues.
• Cost Control & Efficiency:
  
  • IDentify cost-saving opportunities in material sourcing, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Reduce material waste through efficient planning and process improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory practices where applicable.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  
  • Ensure all materials meet quality and regulatory standards for mattress manufacturing.
  • Closely work with the quality control team to address any material defects or inconsistencies.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to material handling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations (preferably in manufacturing).
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Experience in lean manufacturing and inventory management best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Able to lead a team and collaborate across departments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
