Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective material planning strategies to meet production schedules.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials such as foam, fabric, coils, adhesives, and other mattress components.
- Monitor material usage and adjust orders based on demand fluctuations.
- Collaborate closely with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
Key Challenges
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent production disruptions while minimizing excess stock.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, organization, and handling of materials.
- Implement inventory control systems (e.g., ERP/MRP) to track material flow and prevent shortages.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, optimizing material flow and transportation costs.
- Work with logistics partners to streamline shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to address material-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations (preferably in manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Experience in lean manufacturing and inventory management best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Able to lead a team and collaborate across departments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
