Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Manage all aspects of event planning, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, venues, volunteers, and community partners.
- Stay ahead of industry trends to create innovative, engaging events that maximize impact.
- Coordinate logistics for all events, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, marketing materials, and guest experiences.
- Lead pre-event meetings and conduct site visits to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee event setup, on-site management, and breakdown while troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Solicit auction items, sponsorships, and in-kind donations to enhance fundraising efforts.
- Assist in cultivating relationships with existing and prospective donors to support Sertoma’s mission.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development on donor engagement strategies.
- Maintain an organized database of donors, sponsors, auction contributors, and industry contacts.
- Represent Sertoma professionally at networking events and in community partnerships.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting potential board members who align with Sertoma’s mission.
- Ensure a welcoming and positive first impression for all stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
- Engage in public speaking and outreach to promote Sertoma’s impact and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Minimum of 1 year of professional work experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a vape/tobacco-free environment.
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving history.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and community outreach.
- Background in marketing and/or public relations.
- Experience working in a nonprofit environment.
