Sertoma is currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Services Assistant for Sertoma Center’s Clinic. Pay for this position starts at $15.37 per hour with a shift from 8:00am until 4:30pm.

Medical Services Assistant Job Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments for our Persons Served with local medical facilities
- Accompany Persons Served to appointments
- Act as a liaison between families, people supported and medical providers
- Date tracking and follow up to ensure annual appointments and follow up appointments are made and kept
- Report urgent medical needs communicated by the providers to the registered nurse
- Cross train to fill in for others as needed
- Help coordinate weekly clinic schedule for residential homes
- Other duties as assigned

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the COO.
- Your regular attendance is a job requirement; more than one unplanned absence in a two-week period is considered excessive.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and persons supported.
Medical Services Assistant Employment Requirements / Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- A general understanding of computers and computer software is required
- Previous experience working in a medical setting either as a medical assistant, medical office receptionist, or CNA is preferred
- Ability to understand and/or interpret medical terminology is preferred
- Some experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred
- 3 years clean driving history with a valid Tennessee driver’s license
- Ability to lift/assist persons supported (moderate to heavy lifting capabilities)
