The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational health and medical terminology, with a focus on providing exceptional patient service. This role requires an understanding of occupational hearing or industrial audiometric technician, conducts hearing tests, maintains and manages equipment, and educates noise-exposed workers and employers on hearing loss prevention.
Responsibilities
- Conduct visual inspection of the ear to rule out certain conditions that might interfere with testing or earplug fitment.
- Conduct audiometric testing with an audiometer and reporting problem audiograms to supervisor
- Maintain equipment and testing vehicle to ensure proper functioning. Schedule annual calibrations and maintain equipment logs
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate patient records to ensure proper documentation and billing.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care outcomes including education, training, and counseling of adverse effects of noise on hearing, hearing protection use and care, and need for annual hearing tests.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational health and pediatric care.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of occupational health principles.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to various health conditions.
- Understanding of physiology and anatomy, particularly as it pertains to the ear.
- Experience in patient assessment techniques and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Familiarity with healthcare documentation is preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to make cold calls and obtain new business.
