Job Summary & Essential Functions : Responsible for administering programs, procedures, and plans used in carrying out human resources policies as well as providing guidance to managers, supervisors, team leaders, and employees on various human resources policies under the direction of the Human Resource Manager.

Generalist specific duties and responsibilities 75%

  • Consult with hiring managers to understand their business and staffing needs; determine and

execute optimal courses of action to source, screen, recruit and present qualified, diverse talent

  • Screen resumes / applications and test applicants
  • Develop official internal documents such as offer letters and appointments letters.
  • Coordinate new employee orientation (policies, pay data, benefits, etc.)
  • Participate in employee relations / documentation / intervention / corrective actions of employees
  • Manage physical and digital files for employees and their documents, including coordinating sensitive conversations and engaging employees.
  • Manage documents including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews.
  • Contact employment attorney for advice, after approval from management
  • Conducting exit interviews
  • Assist Labor and Industries with workers compensation claims, FMLA and ADA administration
  • Attend seminars and ensure consistent application of HR policies, practices and procedures, and compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
  • Participate on various committees and projects assigned
  • Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • ATS)

  • Evaluate employee performance, including assisting with the implementation and analytics of
  • annual review system

  • Collaborate with other members of the Human Resources department to oversee the hiring and
  • onboarding process for new employees.

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Payroll specific duties and responsibilities 25%

  • Assist in reviewing employee timesheets weekly using Payroll system (Paylocity) assist with bi-
  • weekly payroll in Paylocity, including proper benefits, tax and other withholdings.

  • Provide bi-weekly, monthly and annual payroll reports to General Manager if needed.
  • Streamline the payroll process; updates and maintain written payroll policies and procedures
  • Provides timely response to all payroll inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Prepare and process direct deposits, benefits, and 401k deductions
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding accounting and payroll information
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a generalist in HR
  • Manufacturing experience 1-3 years’
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Software experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is necessary
  • Qualifications - Preferred

  • PHR / SPHR or SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP certification
  • More than five years' progressively challenging and responsible HR generalist experience
  • Experience administering payroll
  • Proficiency in HRIS software(s) – training will be available
  • Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Workstation in an office setting. However, this facility includes an electronics field service and manufacturing area that requires the use of safety devices including glasses with side shields and ESD equipment / clothing, when present in this designated area.
