The Team Lead is responsible for quality control of loan-level transactional activities, conducting research related to cash application, and supporting internal and external audits at various levels. Additionally, this role involves project management responsibilities and aims to resolve cashiering and loan servicing inquiries efficiently. What you will do
- Assist the Leadership team in daily operations of the cashiering teams.
- Oversee and ensure quality control of systemic processing of payments and payoffs.
- Perform as a processor and function owner for various daily operations.
- Ensure daily cash balancing and manual reconciliation are performed accurately.
- Conduct thorough research and respond to cashiering inquiries from various stakeholders.
- Review and resolve issues from daily exception reports, control reports, and unapplied reports.
- Monitor daily queues in multiple applications to ensure compliance with timelines and SLAs.
- Utilize various reports to assist with workflow assignment and delegation.
- Crosstrain with other lines of business to support work overflow and daily processing.
- Participate in new initiatives and projects to enhance cashiering processes.
- Develop job aids and procedural updates as needed.
- Provide timely support to clients, customer-facing, and internal departments.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills to maintain customer confidence in the Servbank philosophy and brand.
- Assist with project management and internal/external audits.
- Support staffing and growth of the cashiering teams.
- Oversee functions including payoff quoting, cash maintenance, check refunds, wires, payment and check processing, default cash processing, bank returns, suspense management, investor reporting interaction, and staff training.
- Assist leadership with team metrics and suggest ideas to motivate and engage the teams.
- Capture feedback and ideas for enhancements.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed
- 3 years of experience in cash processing within a mortgage servicing or banking environment.
- Proven excellence in processing cashiering transactions.
- Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven record of providing superior customer service and working well with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations, show strong initiative, and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility with scheduling based on business needs.
- Positive attitude, understanding of corporate etiquette, and professionalism in all interactions.
Required Computer and Software Competencies
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong math aptitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- MSP experience preferred, especially within the Cash Workstation
Education
- High School Diploma
