We are seeking an experienced OpenText Architect as a temporary contractor to perform a variety of support and technical functions related to the OpenText platform. You will be part of the primary support team for the OpenText Enterprise Content Management System, which maximizes system efficiencies and improves the agency's business processes and workflows. As an OpenText Architect at ServBeyond Solutions, you will be instrumental in delivering ServiceNow solutions and guiding clients through complex implementations. You will work with project teams, ensuring timely delivery while meeting client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Build, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level applications using .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
- Develop API integrations between OpenText and other business systems.
- Ensure secure and reliable application functionality by following best practices in .NET development.
- Responsible for developing business, data, systems, and infrastructure models to develop enterprise architectures.
- Conduct feasibility studies from design, implementation, and post-implementation perspectives for all new project initiatives.
- Develop plans for migrating architectures.
- Develop technical reference models to include hardware/software standards.
- Engineer’s integrated hardware and software solutions to meet mission requirements.
- Make recommendations for creating, providing, and maintaining complete documentation of any hardware, software, or configuration changes.
- Perform application installation and configuration on agency-owned server hardware for Development, Test, and Production environments.
- Provide support and/or consultation to the agency regarding system performance, security, and server resources.
- Update break/fix and operations support issues through the agency’s ticketing system.
- Support weekend Production releases/patches and, in coordination with the OpenText Application Developer, provide a software release management task plan.
- Support the integration of other client/server and web-based systems with OpenText systems.
- Track user permissions and rights within OpenText systems based on work objectives and position authorization.
- Support a smoke testing plan in conjunction with the application developer and quality assurance analysts.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in a related field of information technology is preferred.
Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in information technology systems analysis and support
- The successful candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in the design and support of enterprise-level OpenText implementations (using Process Server OR Content Server)
- Expertise in database migration and re-architecting data models, including handling structured and unstructured data from OpenText.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in .NET development.
- Proficient with API integration and middleware technologies to ensure smooth communication between new .NET applications and existing systems.
- Possess a broad knowledge of data sources, data flow, and system interactions of other enterprise applications (such as SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft) with the OpenText platform.
- Demonstrated ability in developing Software Release Management task plans and operational documentation
- Knowledge of OpenText’s underlying technology, such as Java or other middleware components, is required to deconstruct existing workflows and processes effectively.
- Ability to represent the OpenText platform team in the Change Advisory Board meetings and follow Change, Configuration, and Release Management processes
- Extensive experience (8 to 10 years) designing and architecting applications using .NET (ASP.NET, .NET Core, C#, etc.).
- Deep understanding of .NET frameworks, microservices architecture, and related technologies such as Azure or AWS for cloud deployments.
- Proven experience in migrating legacy systems to .NET solutions, including refactoring applications and rearchitecting platforms.
- Prior experience in performing migrations, especially from non-Microsoft platforms to .NET, is critical.
- Experience performing architecture-related work on at least five (5) IT systems.
- Experience performing a significant role in all aspects of architecture-related work on at least two (2) large IT systems.

- Ability to understand and interpret business needs and identify appropriate business and technical solutions to meet those needs.
- Proven record of successfully managing business relationships.
Salary Information
The salary range for the OpenText Architect contract position is $95/hour, competitive and commensurate with experience.
Location
Remote. Preference is given to candidates in the Baltimore Metro and Washington DC Metro areas.
