The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Category Manager for Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) and Corporate IT procurement to join our team. In this role, you will oversee indirect sourcing, contracting and purchasing of MRO and Corporate IT goods and services.
\n- Ownership of indirect sourcing for MRO and Corporate IT procurement for sites globally.
- Interface with the Operations and IT team to understand requirements for MRO sourcing.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for purchase and service agreements with suppliers.
- Conduct sourcing and negotiate pricing with suppliers for services and equipment required for projects.
- Review supplier proposals, prepare comparisons and cost analysis.
- Identify and screen potential new suppliers and maintain strategic relationships.
- Escalate supplier performance issues to Procurement and Operations leadership as required.
- Issue Purchase Orders and work with finance and accounting teams to resolve invoice issues as required.
- Conduct Supplier Business Reviews.
- 5 years of procurement experience.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing principles and cost analysis.
- Indirect buying experience in Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) and IT and negotiation are preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in the Data Center industry.
- Indirect buying experience in Corporate IT and negotiation.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Yardi).
