Summary of Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director of County Programs, this person is responsible collaborating with the Franklin County court agencies, including judges, public defenders, and law enforcement officers to connect and integrate those individuals identified as being in crisis. The goal is to link the individuals with community-based and natural supports to divert them from police contact and incarceration. Duties are conducted in accordance with all existing policies, procedures and regulations and in accordance with the Mission and Values of the Company.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with local court agencies
- Collects/summarizes relevant data
- Collaborates with other Co-Responders
- Function as an Emergency MH Delegate
- Participates in County/Forensic meetings
- Promotes CIT Principles
- Maintains positive relationships
- Cultivate relationships with community agencies
- Collaborates with Certified CIT Coordinator
- Promotes SAM culture
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Human Services Field or Criminal Justice is preferred with 3 years’ experience working in mental health system and forensics, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Field or Criminal Justice with 5 years’ experience working in the mental health system and forensics.
Must be certified or willing to be certified in CPR, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Intervention, and CIT within 12 months of employment.
Employment Requirements:
Automobile and Valid Insurance, Valid Driver’s License and Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check, Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance, CJIS Clearances
Working Conditions:
Community-based position with office space available at county office. Must be comfortable communicating through virtual technology, work may be required at nights and on weekends, travel throughout Franklin County may be extensive with or without an accompanying law enforcement officer, travel may be in adverse weather conditions, must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Travel in a police vehicle may occur to accompany an officer.
