Summary of Responsibilities:
The Housing Navigator plays a critical role in providing case management services to individuals and families to support their access to and maintenance of safe, affordable housing. This position works closely with individuals, landlords, and community organizations to ensure individuals served secure and retain stable housing. The Housing Navigator employs a strengths-based approach to overcome barriers to housing stability and connects individuals to necessary resources and services.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments to identify housing needs, preferences, and barriers.
- Serve as a Point of Contact: Act as the primary contact for individuals after referrals and applications are completed, ensuring a seamless transition into housing services.
- Facilitate Housing Access and Retention: Assist individuals in completing housing applications, navigating rental assistance programs, and securing affordable housing options. Provide ongoing support and advocacy to help individuals maintain their housing, including conflict resolution with landlords.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure all client records and case notes are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with organizational policies and funding requirements. Report on client progress as needed.
- Coordinate Resources and Referrals: Connect individuals to community resources such as financial assistance, employment support, healthcare services, and emergency housing.

Education & Experience:
Essential: Associate's degree in human services or related field with at least 2 years experience of working in social services.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related field.
Employment Requirements:
- Criminal History, Child Abuse Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
- Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance.
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable motor vehicle record check, valid automobile insurance
Working Conditions:
- Comfortable working within an open office environment and communicating through virtual technology.
- Travel throughout the coverage area is required.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds.
