QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Proven experience in communications, marketing, community engagement, business partnerships.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.
- Knowledge of educational systems and community dynamics.
- Experience in fundraising and grant writing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer with implementation of a communications and marketing strategy
- Serve as a liaison with area media and external partners for district’s needs and successes
- Build a culture of philanthropy for the FSPS Foundation
- Build a comprehensive fundraising strategy
- Annual giving initiatives: email solicitations, direct mail, annual giving day, employee giving and a monthly sustainer program
- Major giving and sponsorships
- Online giving
- Legacy giving
- Implement a database system for fundraising efforts
- Brand and market the FSPS Foundation
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, community organizations, government agencies, and other relevant entities
- Increase and recruit new members of the Partners in Education (PIE) program for the Fort Smith Public Schools
- Train mentors and partners through an orientation session for PIE program
- Find ways to steward members of the PIE program
- Brand and market the PIE program
- Implement a database system for PIE program
- Plan and coordinate special events that promote philanthropy, community and business engagement
- Develop and implement initiatives to engage the local community in supporting educational programs and initiatives
- Plan and coordinate events for reunions and alumni
- Manage logistics, outreach, and communication for events
- Track and analyze the impact of engagement and business partnerships on educational outcomes
- Prepare regular reports for district leadership and external partners
- Develop and manage the budget for engagement
- Ensure responsible use of resources and alignment with district priorities
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance and demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations
- Evaluates and supervises departmental staff.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, and squatting.
