Service Credit Union is seeking a Small Business Lender who will be responsible for the new business development and relationship management activities of the Credit Union’s Small Business Lending initiative. The overall objective of this role is to work with the Senior Manager – Commercial Lending to build a portfolio of small dollar, guaranteed Member Business Loans. This position will include involvement in many department initiatives, offering support in a variety of roles.
Pay: Salaried position starting at $62,700. Negotiable with experience.

The Day to Day:
- Participate in new initiatives to expand the Small Business Lending portfolio.
- Track and manage the distribution of commercial loan referrals, including responding to requests in a timely manner.
- Process and underwrite small business loan requests utilizing manual or automated scoring system, following the Credit Union’s Member Business Loan Policies and Procedures, including understanding when a Small Business Administration or New Hampshire Business Finance Authority enhancement should be utilized.
- Work with Senior Manager to develop small business product offerings that support the Credit Union’s strategic goals
- Active involvement with the automated scoring initiative
- Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management and members through cooperation, mutual trust and respect.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Advanced knowledge of principles of commercial lending
- Understanding of the Small Business Administration and New Hampshire Business Finance Authority loan programs
- Experience as a team member at a medium sized regional financial institution, including commercial accounts or other equivalent training
- Sales experience
- Ability to work well in a team setting, provide support for other colleagues in Commercial Banking and lead when called upon
- Provide management for Small Business Lending projects as needed
- Effective organizational and analytical skills
