OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Manages the promotion and direction of sales within an assigned area or territory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for creating a business plan to increase sales through researching, analyzing, and interpreting records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management
- Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, and develop sales campaigns
- Predicts future market trends and develops new sales ideas
- Identifies and contacts potential new customers
- Calls on new and existing customers to explain features and merits of products or services offered
- Demonstrates products or services, and provides assistance in the best application of products or services
- Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required
- Closes transactions and takes orders
- Submits time and expense reports to management
- Investigates product or service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies
- Calculates and quotes prices
- Coordinate customers’ service needs with other departments as required to ensure customer service
- Attends trade shows, staff booth, and help with set up and break down of booth
OTHER DUTIES
- Performs all other duties as required
- Travel to customers as required
- Responsible for providing backup to other Regional Sales Managers as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within a sales capacity required
