Full job description
We are currently seeking a Residential/Commercial Service Electrician (Min 3-Years Exp) to perform work on our various jobs in the Dekalb area. Our service area: 25-30 miles in/around Dekalb.
Our Customers: Condo/Apt Buildings, Townhomes, Single Family Homes, Multiple Unit Residences, Commercial Properties, Office Buildings/Retail Spaces, Billboards/Wallscapes/Outdoor Signs.
Many of our customers are repeat business and need some assistance from a professional/eager Service Electrician who can help with our current influx of steady work.
Responsibilities:
- Install and repair electrical equipment and fixtures
- Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems
- Troubleshoot motor and control systems, circuits, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
- All types of conduit-bending & wire-pulling
- Adhere to all quality and safety codes including City of Chicago Codes
- Must be versed on OSHA safety/climbing/electrical circuitry
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to work independently and able to follow directions
- Must have dependable truck / van [Able to haul ladders & misc. materials]
- Must be willing to travel to various projects during daytime hours M-F for service calls
- Possible evening & weekend hours and/or Saturday & Sunday for service calls
- Applicant must able to speak/write/read English fluently
- Clean-cut with NO History of alcohol and/or substance abuse
- Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle background check.
