Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician

Service Plus is seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician to service a growing customer base with commercial kitchen equipment both in and out of warranty. Our service territory covers most of New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and parts of New York. This is an excellent opportunity to join the leading Commercial Kitchen Equipment Repair Company in the state.

As a Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician, you will have the opportunity to repair and service Reach-Ins, Merchandisers, Display Cases, Ice Machines, and much more.

Our diverse customer base includes hospitals, restaurants, nursing homes, pizzerias, delis, banquet halls, corporate cafeterias, fire departments, and any other establishments with commercial kitchens.

Our office is located in Flanders, NJ and candidates will be required to travel to our office for training. After the training period is over, a company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• The ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on Large/Small Commercial Refrigeration utilizing Electric 1-3Phase 120v-480v.
• Must be able to operate hand tools, power tools, all types of gauges, meters, etc.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs regularly, at times exert up to 150lbs of force to pull, push, lift carry, etc.
• Ability to climb and work on a ladder, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, grasp to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to work in all commercial kitchen conditions, i/e: extreme heat/cold, noise, crowded spaces, etc.
• Must adhere to all safety first policies, able to operate a commercial vehicle with prudence
• Must be able to provide high-quality customer care and have the ability to effectively communicate with customers and other employees, work independently without close supervision
• Promoting additional products and services, such as preventative maintenance, kitchen/ housekeeping chemicals, water treatment products, etc.
• Maintaining truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards. Must also follow the truck maintenance schedule and keep company vehicle organized and clean.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• 1-2 years minimum similar experience and/or training preferred, but not required
• Availability to work variable and flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on call in rotation with other team members, overtime pay available
• Ability to follow directions and specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship
• Strong plumbing, mechanical, and electrical knowledge are a plus
• EPA Certification 608, 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F with minimum of:

- Type I for servicing small appliances.

- Type II for servicing or disposing of high- or very high-pressure appliances, except small appliances and MVACs

- Type III for servicing or disposing of low-pressure appliances.

- Universal for servicing all types of equipment.

Compensation:

• Apprentice level technician starting at 45K yearly, and up to 100K yearly for high level technicians, all based upon experience.
