Our medical billing office has been in business for over 25 years. We handle mental health and surgical billing. We take pride in our excellent billing practices while providing the best customer service to our providers and their patients. We would love to welcome a new team member to our office. ENJOY 3 DAY WEEKENDS! Full-time hours are Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-5pm, Friday-Sunday off. **We have a Part-Time position available (IN OFFICE-No remote work) working a minimum of 25 hours per week. *Will accept new graduates from billing and coding program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Billing: Minimum of 1 year (Preferred) OR Has Completed a Medical Billing Program
- High School or equivalent (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of applying CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Experience processing verification of insurance benefits
- Knowledge of health care insurance
- Able to easily navigate a computer and learn new software
- Independent worker with excellent problem solving skills
- Dependable with excellent attendance records that can be verified
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and has excellent follow through
- Flexible with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and changing work week
- Able to communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients and physicians both verbally and in written form.
- Knowledge of Excel (Preferred)
- Cooperative, gets along well with others and is committed to being a team player
JOB DUTIES:
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA regulations
- Set up and/or update patient accounts
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Enter charges from providers fee slips quickly and accurately to ensure a clean claim is being submitted. (We do not do the actual coding).
- Create payment batches - Accurately posts patient payments, insurance payments and adjustments; Able to read insurance explanation of benefits (EOB’s)
- Research and resolve insurance denials or incorrect payments with phone calls and written appeals, communicate with physicians regarding this process
- Follow up on past due accounts with insurance and patients
- Provides billing customer service - Answers incoming calls resolving patient billing inquiries and processing patient payments over the phone
- Collection calls – Call patients regarding past due balances and set up payment plans as needed
- Research and request insurance and patient refunds
- Credentialing and Contracting of providers with various Insurances
- Other duties as assigned
*Compensation for this position will be based upon the candidate's experience and qualifications. Enjoy 3 Day Weekends!
*Full-Time Work schedule is Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-5pm. 4 10 hour shifts with Friday-Sunday off. Occasional OT required. *Currently hiring for a Part-Time position working Monday-Thursday 25-30 hours per week. (Located in the downtown Gresham area).
***Will accept new graduates from billing and coding program.
***Interested in candidates that have completed CBCS and CPB.
