Service Specialists recruiting agency is excited to announce an opportunity for a Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join a successful firm. This role offers the chance to start in-office for training with the potential for a hybrid work schedule afterwards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review case files for immediate needs, deadlines, and essential documents while communicating with clients to obtain missing items.
- Compile and update File Summaries and Medical Summaries as new information arises.
- Assist attorneys in preparing Commission forms and pleadings.
- Draft initial written discovery for attorney review.
- Prepare responses for initial discovery and manage document production coordination.
- Monitor incoming mail for urgent needs and pertinent paralegal tasks.
- Request crucial documents including medical records, personnel files, and project files.
- Review document production to identify additional needs and potential summaries.
- Support preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Coordinate scheduling for Employer Medical Examinations / Independent Medical Examinations, ensuring documentation follows physician protocols.
- Work alongside attorneys in the initial development of settlement documents.
- Follow up to ensure timely approval and finalization of settlements in accordance with Commission rules.
- Complete other billable tasks as assigned.
- Foster a cooperative work environment by engaging positively with co-workers.
- Maintain professionalism when responding to internal staff, clients, and vendors.
- Contribute as a valued team member.
- Adopt changes positively and productively.
- Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements :
Salary : $40,000-$70,000 DOE Benefits
