Accountant Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Job Responsibilities/ Duties
- Maintain the general ledger, manage cash flow, post journal entries, and prepare monthly financial statements.
- Ensure timely month-end close, including the completion of balance sheet workbooks.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies.
- Complete weekly bank reconciliations and ensure payments are made on time.
- Work closely with the Controller for accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Coordinate with the construction and development teams to ensure accurate month-end close-outs and cash reviews.
- Prepare and maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation.
- Support the preparation of year-end audit and tax packages, collaborating with external auditors.
- Handle special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues related to accounting or payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Sage300, RealPage, ResMan, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of evolving GAAP accounting practices.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and clients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
