What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restoration Technician position at Service Team of Professionals?
Fire & Water Restoration Technician
We are now hiring full time Restoration Technicians and Trainees at our Centre Hall location servicing Centre, Clinton & Mifflin Counties. Our dedicated team of STOP Restoration Technicians help families in our local community affected by FIRE, WATER, SMOKE, and MOLD.
If you are curious what a day as a Restoration Technician is like, here are just a few things to expect. Our technicians work at a different job site mostly every day of the week. There is rarely a dull day. Working in an emergency service field like ours requires urgency, problem solving, and compassion for our customers.
Technicians respond to emergencies like flooded basements, building fires, and homes with mold damage. They assess damage, set dehumidifiers and equipment, monitor and document progress, move furniture, clean and treat with antimicrobial, remove damaged materials like drywall & flooring. The technicians do this under the direction of Restoration Foreman and Restoration Manager.
The most successful Restoration Technicians are eager to develop skills and earn the opportunity to become IICRC Certified and become true “Masters of Disaster”. Restoration methods are science backed and take time to learn and develop. Many of our technicians have started without any experience in the restoration field. However, with the right attitude and a desire to learn, we can get you the skills you need to develop your career in this demanding field.
STOP Restoration Technicians report to the office in Centre Hall. Teams of 2 go out in company provided trucks to job sites. Typical hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm on weekdays. However, after hours and weekend hours are rotated between the technicians.
Also, because most of our work is turned into insurance companies, STOP Restoration Technicians are also tasked with documenting projects using the latest industry software and apps. This includes taking job notes, collecting photo evidence, setting equipment and monitoring progress until the end of the project.
