Summary:
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying and nurturing strategic relationships with partners and/or potential customers. The Business Development Specialist will help develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. This position will work closely with the marketing team to implement initiatives in line with company standards and protocols for new and existing customers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential new markets, customer segments, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Proactively source and qualify potential leads through networking, attending industry events, cold calling, and other outreach methods.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective customers, building trust and understanding their needs.
- Manage sales pipeline through internal system by tracking leads, qualifying opportunities, and progressing them through the sales cycle.
- Create compelling proposals and presentations to showcase company solutions and value proposition to potential customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to seamlessly onboard new customers and ensure successful implementation of services.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with existing customers to identify additional business opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to management on sales progress and market insights.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas, negotiate deals, and build rapport with customers.
- Proven ability to build relationships and leverage networks to identify new business opportunities.
- Understanding of the sales process, including lead generation, qualification, negotiation, basic math skills, and closing techniques.
- Deep knowledge of the industry, target market, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Capability to build trust and rapport with customers and stakeholders.
- Local and regional travel may be required for trade shows, training, networking events and for selling services immediately after catastrophic events
- Some work required outside of traditional working hours to network and represent the company at business social events
Education and Experience:
- Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record required
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or marketing preferred
- 2-4 Years of related work experience preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in the Disaster Restoration field; IICRC Certifications preferred
- 6-12 months of sales experience or prior sales training is highly desired, but not required
- Skilled using social media and other web-based sales tools
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Understand the speech of another person in the English language.
- Speak clearly so listeners can understand in the English language.
- Move up to 20 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
