GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Location Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning operations of their assigned worksite, ensuring the location is maintained as a clean, healthy environments for our customers, their clients, and grounds. This position performs cleaning and maintenance duties as well as communication with the client to ensure their satisfaction. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to health and safety, and the ability to work independently and lead a team. This position is deemed safety sensitive due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
 

    • Responsible for crew performance and communication with the customer. 
    • Ensure that tasks performed by other team members are completed to ServiceMaster Company standards. 
    • Provide training to new team members to make them familiar with the specifics needs of the assigned client. 
    • Perform general cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing all designated areas such as offices, restrooms, hallways, and break rooms. 
    • Empty and sanitize trash receptacles and dispose of waste following facility protocols. 
    • Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and common areas. 
    • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. 
    • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. 
    • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. 
    • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. 
    • Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment, including PPE, following all safety and usage guidelines as per OSHA standards. 
    • Handle and dispose of biohazard materials safely in designated areas when required. 
    • Opens and locks facilities, enables and disables security system as required.  
    • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or supply needs to the Location Supervisor promptly. 
    • Ensure that tasks performed by other team members are completed to ServiceMaster Company standards. 
    • Provide training to new team members to make them familiar with the specific needs of the assigned client. 
    • To perform any other duties within the scope of the position to meet the needs of the business. 
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  
  • 3 years’ experience in custodial/janitorial field 
  • 1 years’ team lead or supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and clean driving record  
  • Drive personal vehicles to assigned building and perform required janitorial tasks. 
  • Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals. 
  • Ability to read and understand labels, SDS (Safety Data Sheets), and safety guidelines. 
  • Participate in regular safety training sessions and stay informed of any updates to protocols or standards. 
  • High level of personal integrity and ethics.  
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Effective self-management practices and ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the day. 
  • Ability to establish relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. 
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to communicate with team members and customers. 
  • Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service both internally and externally.  
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. 
Work Environment 

  • This position works in multiple environments based on assigned clients and business needs, which may include office buildings, hospitals, schools, and manufacturing/industrial environments.  
  • Work is performed in various indoor commercial spaces, which may include offices, restrooms, stairwells, and kitchens. 
  • Due to the nature of the position, regular travel is required between client locations.  
  • The environment may contain high-traffic areas, requiring awareness of surrounding activity. 
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and waste materials. 
  • Some duties may require work outdoors or in areas with limited temperature control.  
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  
  • This position must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. 
Physical Demands & Mental Competencies 

The physical demands and mental competencies described are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

  • Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head, reaching forward.  
  • Must be able to transport 25lbs regularly.  
  • Ability to read and understand cleaning instructions 
  • Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses 
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and power washers. 
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary for operating equipment safely and ensuring a thorough clean. 
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. 
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines closely. 
  • Time management skills to complete tasks within allocated time frames. 
  • Attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards  
  • Ability to handle potentially stressful situations, such as emergency spills or sanitation needs. 
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. 
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, but will include an altered schedule to include some Saturdays: 7:30 am - 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm. 
or 7:30 am - 11: 30 am
