Position Summary
As a Painter/Drywall Finisher, you will play a crucial role in repairing and restoring drywall and paint finishes in residential and commercial properties following water damage, fire damage, or general wear and tear. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day operations – to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities as needed within crew members
- Manage budget and order materials
- Understand order of operations for the construction industry for residential construction
- Collaborate with project managers and restoration teams to execute repair plans.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding project status and expectations.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Keep work areas clean and organized throughout the restoration process.
- Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Skills/Qualifications
Required
- Five or more years of proven experience in drywall installation, repair, and painting, particularly in restoration settings.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and restoration plans.
- Technologically adept.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid Drivers’ license.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to drywall and painting.
- Must have own tool belt and hand tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with restoration teams and clients.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in the Restoration industry is a plus.
- Familiar with building codes.
- OSHA 10/30/40 Certification.
- Previous experience in the insurance repair industry.
Work Environment
The Restoration industry is a dynamic and challenging environment that involves both indoor and outdoor settings. You will often work in buildings and structures that have been damaged by water, fire, mold, or other disasters. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in potentially hazardous conditions, including confined spaces, heights, extreme temperatures, and exposure to dust, microbial growth, and other contaminants. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn as required. Teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential in this fast-paced and rewarding field.
Physical Demands
This position will typically require the employee to stand or walk for extended periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor. Expect to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items occasionally for this position.
