Join us as we pursue our purpose to make the world work better for everyone.Job Description Manage and oversee all aspects of state and local income tax operations, including reporting, compliance, planning, and auditsLead the preparation of state and local income tax provision and collaborate with the tax provision teams to ensure alignment and compliance with overall tax strategiesAssist tax provision team on state income tax related issues and address related questions from external auditorsOversee the completion of state and local income tax returns prepared by external consultants to ensure timely and accurate filing, and compliance with state and local tax regulations and requirementsDevelop and implement state and local tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilitiesMonitor and analyze changes in state and local tax laws and regulationsAdvise on the state and local tax impact of mergers, acquisitions, and other business developmentsManage state and local tax audits and respond to tax notices and develop strategies to effectively resolve tax disputes and controversiesAssist in the development and implementation of state tax-related policies and proceduresMentor and provide guidance to junior tax professionals within the teamStay current with industry trends and best practices, and share knowledge with the teamIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyQualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MST preferredMinimum of 10 years of combined corporate and (or) public accounting firm experience in state and local income tax, focusing on income tax compliance, planning, and auditsIn-depth knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations, including conformity to federal tax rules such as TCJA, APB 23, Section 382Working knowledge on ASC 740 and FIN 48 and its application to state and local tax provisionsExperience with OneSource Tax Provision, SAP, Microsoft Power BI, and Alteryx is a plusAbility to manage and execute multiple tasks, prioritizing and adhering to tight timelinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsTeam player and self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervisionAdditional Information Work PersonasWe approach our distributed world of work with flexibility and trust.
