Job Description

ServicePoint is seeking motivated and Low Voltage EL06 Technician Trainees to join our team in Washington. This position involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling systems, as well as working with data and communications infrastructure.

As a Low Voltage Technician Trainee, you will work with cutting-edge technology and support the construction and maintenance of critical systems in data, telecom, and security applications. Candidates should have a strong desire to learn and grow, as well as an understanding of basic construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A.
  • Perform copper terminations for patch panels, modular jacks, faceplates, SMBs, and consolidation points (CP).
  • Install and handle fiber optic cables, ensuring proper rough-in practices, handling procedures, and terminations (mechanical/fusion).
  • Build and organize MDF/IDF rooms, including:
    • Installing overhead tray/ladder racking.
    • Setting up racks and server cabinets.
    • Rack-and-stack equipment installations.
  • Install audio/visual systems and security cameras.
  • Install and configure wireless access points (WAP).
  • Troubleshoot data and telecommunications systems.
  • Test and verify copper and fiber cable functionality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Apply basic construction knowledge in day-to-day operations.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage cabling and telecommunications systems.
  • Familiarity with copper and fiber testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Basic construction knowledge and hands-on installation skills.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn in a team environment.

Compensation is based on experience. Candidates with 2 years of experience and sufficient hours to qualify for the Washington State Electrical O6 License are expected to attempt the licensing exam. Advancement beyond relevant pay tier will not be available unless the candidate has made a good-faith effort to pass the state licensing exam.
