Job Summary
ServicePoint IT is seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our team for CAT5 and CAT6 cabling installations in large commercial environments. This position requires 100% travel across the U.S. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structured cabling, network infrastructure, and large-scale commercial installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test CAT5 and CAT6 network cabling in commercial environments.
- Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to industry standards for structured cabling, including BICSI guidelines.
- Work with fiber optic terminations and patch panels as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project documentation.
- Ensure proper cable management, organization, and documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other technicians.
- Follow safety procedures and adhere to OSHA standards.
- Travel extensively to job sites across the U.S. (100% travel required).
- 2 years of experience in structured cabling installation (CAT5, CAT6).
- Proficiency in cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Fluke testers and other network testing tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (heights, confined spaces, etc.).
- Ability to travel nationwide.
- BICSI certification or other structured cabling certifications.
- Experience with fiber optic installation.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
