Job Description

Hancock Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Math Literacy Interventionist to join our team!

This position plays a critical role in supporting students who need additional help developing their math and literacy skills.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, self-directed professional with a strong understanding of foundational literacy and math skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement targeted math and literacy interventions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide push-in and pull-out support to small groups of students as needed.
  • Utilize data to assess students, monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify students requiring Tier II and Tier III interventions and integrate support within the classroom setting.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Research, select, and apply evidence-based programs and practices without direct oversight.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and day-to-day tasks to prioritize the needs of students and teachers.
  • Participate in the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and contribute to data-driven discussions.
  • Exhibit leadership by mentoring colleagues, sharing best practices, and contributing to a positive school culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; respected by staff and able to collaborate effectively across grade levels.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Specialized training in literacy and math interventions preferred, including current best practices.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based math and literacy programs and strategies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional learning.
  • Strong understanding of MTSS
  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent changes in schedule and priorities.
