Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated math lessons aligned with the Maine Learning Results.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
- Assess student learning through formal and informal methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and classwork, and use results to guide instruction.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and school leadership.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including grade-level teams and special education staff, to plan and implement effective instruction and interventions.
- Manage classroom behavior using consistent and positive discipline strategies that align with the Responsive Classroom Approach.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance, progress, and ways to support learning at home.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and instructional strategies in math education.
- Contribute to the school community by participating in events, committees, and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Professional endorsement to teach students in grades 5-8. Conditional certifications will be considered.
- Strong understanding of the Maine Learning Results is preferred.
- Knowledge of Eureka Math 2 Curriculum preferred.
