St. George Municipal School Unit (MSU) is a community school and the heart and strength of our school is the community of St. George. The district serves approximately 290 students; about 190 students attend PreK – 8th grade at St. George School and almost 100 St. George students in 9th – 12th grade enjoy high school choice. Our mission is simple – to do whatever it takes to ensure that every single student thrives and to contribute to the vitality and resiliency of the Town of St. George. We focus on students’ academic growth, character development, and health/wellness. We recognize that health/wellness – which we define as students’ physical & mental health, social-emotional well-being, and food security – is a prerequisite for academic growth and character development.
St. George School is looking for a PreK-8 Physical Education/Health Teacher to join our school-community. This person will work closely with teacher teams, the School Social Worker, and School Nurse to implement a K-8 Physical Education and Health curriculum that helps students develop physically, socially, emotionally, and academically. The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator who is excited to join a community school that prioritizes innovation, collaboration, community partnerships, and a deep commitment to the success and wellbeing of every child.
Applicants must hold a valid Maine teacher certification (020). Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found. Individuals interested should complete the St. George Teacher Application including a letter of interest and resume.
