SUMMARY:
The Compliance Analyst provides administrative support to the department and helps ensure all Federal, State, Regulatory and Investor requirements are met.
Key Performance Measures:
- Assist with monitoring the Compliance Help inbox and either acknowledge or respond to compliance inquiries within one hour of receiving them.
- Perform detailed reviews of all HMDA reportable originated and non-originated applications and resolve errors monthly & quarterly.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of company licensing requirements and ensure all license information is up to date, 30 days ahead of due date, or as is allowed by specific states.
- Respond to investor and MI company file requests, missing document requests as well as assist with timely remediation of defect findings. Begin taking action within 3 business days of receiving the request and provide a response to the outside party within their specified timeframe.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Assist with regulatory and compliance issues including coordination of information and documentation requested by state and federal examiners.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of federal and state regulations related to real estate and mortgage lending as well as FHA, VA, USDA and GSE guidelines.
- Provide compliance advice and guidance to staff on federal and state regulations including TILA, RESPA, ECOA, fair lending, HMDA, licensing, FCRA, Dodd-Frank and other related laws.
- Assist with monitoring the Compliance Help inbox and respond to compliance inquiries.
- Perform detailed reviews of all HMDA reportable originated and non-originated applications.
- Assist with all open compliance findings as assigned until satisfactorily resolved.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of company licensing requirements and ensure all license information is up to date. This includes timely filing of annual reports with the respective state departments accurately, submitting annual renewals through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) timely and accurately, communicating with state departments as needed.
- Assist with due diligence related reviews of new lending partners.
- When requested, serve on committees or special task groups for new regulatory, program or procedural changes.
- Respond to investor and MI company file requests, missing document requests as well as assist with timely remediation of defect findings.
- Perform internal audits of origination, post-closing, ad servicing teams to establish and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and investor requirements.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Required:
- Working knowledge of mortgage origination, underwriting g and servicing.
- Knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending compliance, laws and regulations.
- Time management skills with emphasis on quality.
- Ability to independently problem solve.
- A demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and compliance statutes and regulations.
- Ability to respond to compliance-related inquiries independently and accurately from fellow employees.
- Establish rapport with fellow employees and ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred:
- Experience with mortgage loan underwriting or working with underwriting standards.
- Exposure to mortgage servicing regulations and investor requirements
- Knowledge of software systems that support mortgage creation and servicing.
- Familiarity with state licensure and regulatory practices
COMPENSATION: $22.98 - $34.70 per hour

The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; 2–4-year relevant degree preferred.
Experience: At least one year mortgage experience.
Preferred: At least one year of previous mortgage regulatory compliance, quality control or quality assurance experience.
