Summary
The Construction Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid and price construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, and resource providers involved in construction services.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
• Create an accurate sketch and initial scope of work.
• Deliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimate.
• Work with external resources as necessary to complete accurate estimates (Vendors, ITEL, Insurance etc.)
• Recognize project constraints and/or needed upgrades.
• Work with Project Manager to price bid items, if needed
Secondary Responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities to accurately assess project costs, perform quantity take-offs, and identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.
• Meticulous and thorough in analyzing project requirements, scope, and specifications. A keen eye for detail to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• 2 years prior experience estimating and/or adjusting experience.
• Proficient use of Xactimate estimating software
• In-depth knowledge of local and national building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and techniques.
• Certifications: Xactimate level I/II
Working Hours & Travel
• Job Type: Full Time
• Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
• Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Remaining in a seated position
• Clear vision, including the ability to read small print on blueprints and construction documents, and distinguish colors for accurate assessment.
