National Fire & Water Construction Training Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Fire & Water Construction Training Specialist to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs specifically tailored for construction project managers specializing in fire and water damage restoration. This critical role will directly impact the success of our restoration projects by equipping our project managers with the specialized skills and knowledge required to excel in this demanding field. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in fire and water damage restoration project management, strong training and facilitation skills, and the ability to effectively engage and motivate learners.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development (Fire & Water Focus): Design and develop engaging and effective training programs covering all aspects of fire and water damage construction project management, with a specific focus on the unique challenges and requirements of this industry. This includes:
- Specialized sales techniques for homeowners and property owners dealing with fire and water damage, including empathy and understanding of their situation.
- Scope negotiation and agreement specific to fire and water damage, including identifying all affected areas and potential hidden damage.
- Profitable estimating and budgeting for fire and water restoration projects, considering insurance requirements and specialized equipment needs.
- Project timeline development for fire and water restoration, factoring in remediation processes, and potential delays.
- Subcontractor identification, qualification, and management specializing in fire and water restoration.
- Effective project and subcontractor management for fire and water jobs, including coordination of specialized tasks and adherence to industry best practices.
- Stakeholder communication throughout the fire and water restoration project lifecycle, including insurance adjusters, homeowners, and other involved parties.
- Standardization & Enforcement: Establish and maintain standards for estimating, scoping, and job execution across all MUO locations. Ensure consistent application of these standards through training, audits, and performance monitoring.
- Training: Deliver training programs through a variety of methods, including in-person workshops, online courses, webinars, how to perform estimate reviews, ride alongs, and on-the-job coaching.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify areas where project managers require additional training and support.
- Training Material Development: Create and maintain up-to-date training materials, including presentations, handouts, job aids, and online resources, tailored to fire and water damage restoration.
- Learning Management System (LMS) Administration (if applicable): Manage and maintain the Servpro HQ LMS modules.
- Performance Evaluation: Develop and implement methods for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and measuring the performance of project managers in fire and water restoration projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously update and improve training programs based on feedback from participants, performance data, and industry best practices specific to fire and water damage restoration.
- Travel: Significant travel will be required to various locations across the country.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with regional managers and other stakeholders to ensure training programs are aligned with business needs and objectives within the fire and water restoration division.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience (e.g., 5 years) in the fire and water damage restoration industry, with a proven track record of success in project management.
- Deep expertise in all aspects of fire and water damage construction project management, including the areas listed in the responsibilities section.
- Strong training and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs using a variety of methods.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in relevant estimating software and technology, including project management software and LMS platforms.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
