Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Project Engineer level 1 for our Bridgeton, MO facility. As a Project Engineer level 1 at Leonardo DRS Land Systems, you will be responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a project or projects on time and budget. A successful candidate will be a resourceful and self-motivated individual and will have a proven track record of effectively leading multi-disciplined engineering teams. As Project Engineer, you will serve as the interface between the engineering technical team and other departments within the organization, including Program Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

Job Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and requirements, and may lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
• Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
• May lead a team of engineers to complete a project or projects
• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
• Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.

The expected pay scale for this position is $101,553.00 / year - $157,661.00 / year for the state of Illinois. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education / training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
