The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Software Systems Engineer (SWSE) to play a critical role in the development of our Land Electronics business unit products. You will serve as a lead SWSE, responsible for understanding the technical intricacies of the software components of products on multiple programs. You will use this knowledge to translate end-user needs into clear, concise, and actionable software requirements. You will then see these requirements through all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop software requirements and software CONOPs from system-level requirements and CONOPs. Perform functional analysis, requirements allocation, decomposition, and interface definition, and then allocate these to software subcomponents for Software Engineers to implement / integrate / test, and Software Verification and Validation (V&V) to test.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product owners, and the development team.
- Aid in developing Jira user stories, architecting software solutions, and establishing acceptance criteria for products to ensure solutions align with customer needs and definitions.
- Incorporate Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile best practices such as user story development, backlog refinement, release planning, and user interaction.
Desirable Experience
Digital Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO and CREO
Qualifications
At least 2 years of Systems Engineering (operational concept development, architecture definition, requirements development, etc.).
