The following is the basic job description for the S&OP Manager position current as of the date noted above. Any alterations, substitutions, or additions must be approved in writing by two of the following people: Human Resource Manager and Director of Operations. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

High-Level Objectives:
Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure alignment across sales, operations, and finance.
Oversee demand and supply planning to optimize inventory levels, minimize costs, and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and service levels.
Job Summary:
The S&OP Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end Sales and Operations Planning process, ensuring cross-functional alignment and optimization of supply chain activities. This role leads a team of Demand and Supply Planners, facilitating data-driven decision-making to balance demand, supply, and inventory levels. The S&OP Manager acts as a key liaison between sales, operations, and finance to align strategic and operational goals, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions:
S&OP Leadership:
Lead and manage the S&OP process, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between sales, operations, and finance.
Facilitate S&OP meetings, ensuring alignment on forecasts, supply plans, and inventory strategies.
Team Management:
Oversee and mentor the Demand Planner and Supply Planners, providing guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
Ensure accountability and alignment within the team to meet supply chain goals.
Demand and Supply Planning:
Review and validate demand forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational and financial objectives.
Review and validate supply plans, ensuring balanced inventory levels, minimized costs, and high service levels.
Inventory Optimization:
Monitor system-wide inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Lead inventory optimization efforts which includes product returns to vendor and branch to branch transfers.
Implement strategies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory while maintaining safety stock levels.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze supply chain data, including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and stockout rates.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the S&OP process.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve supply chain performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Work Experience: 5–7 years in supply chain roles, with at least 3 years in S&OP, demand planning, or supply planning leadership roles.
Companies Worked For: Mid-sized distribution companies, manufacturing firms, or retail businesses with complex supply chains.
Trainings & Certifications: APICS CPIM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
