Sr. Network Engineer (Fortinet Experience)

Systems Engineering Services is seeking a Lead Fortinet Engineer based out of the Central time zone.

Top 5 Technical Skills:

1. Several years of experience working with Fortinet products in a network security role.
2. Proven track record in deploying and managing SD-WAN solutions in medium to large-scale environments.
3. Experience with other network vendors' SD-WAN solutions is a plus (e.g., Cisco, VMware, Palo Alto).

Top 3 Soft Skills:

1. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex network issues.
2. Communication Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams including offshore and remote onshore team members

Role on the Team:

• Work with Architect to identify and resolve any inefficiencies in Fortinet architecture
• Respond to production issues while coordinating with team members and documenting resolutions
• Train and teach team members on Fortinet products offerings and best practice

1. Fortinet Product Knowledge:
2. In-depth understanding of FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
3. Expertise in FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized management and reporting.
4. Proficiency with FortiOS, the operating system of FortiGate devices.
5. Knowledge of FortiGate's SD-WAN features, including application-based traffic steering, WAN path control, and WAN link load balancing.
6. SD-WAN Architecture and Design:
7. Strong grasp of SD-WAN architecture and principles.
8. Ability to design scalable and secure SD-WAN solutions using Fortinet products.
9. Understanding of WAN optimization techniques and their implementation in SD-WAN.
10. Familiarity with various WAN connectivity options like MPLS, broadband, LTE, and VPN.
