Job Summary:
The Senior Electrical Technician is a crucial role in the development and production of Sesame Solar's innovative Mobile Nanogrid systems. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles, as well as hands-on experience with fabrication and assembly techniques. The ideal candidate will be a skilled craftsman with a passion for sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Hours are Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 4:00 pm ET. Part-time schedule available as well. Military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more due to Covid or other illness.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

This position requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles, as well as hands-on experience with fabrication and assembly techniques. The ideal candidate will be a skilled craftsman with a passion for sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble components for Sesame Solar's Nanogrid systems, including solar panels, battery storage, and hydrogen fuel cells.
- Install and troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls, and instrumentation within the Nanogrid systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and resolve electrical problems, working closely with engineers to develop solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in electrical.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication and electrical assembly, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles.
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment, including electrical testing instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring that all components meet the highest standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with solar panel installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of battery storage systems and their operation.
- Certification in relevant fields.
- Ability to lift moderate weight (up to 40 lbs)
- Ability to drive a forklift
