Quantitative Trading Analyst, Quantitative Trading
SESCO PJM Strategy LLC seeks a Quantitative Trading Analyst, Quantitative Trading for its Monroeville, PA office. (Multiple openings)
Job Description:
Perform market analysis to support energy trading opportunities consistent with internal risk management strategies and provide analytical support for trading activities. Activities will be performed in a highly programmatic manner and involve elements of software engineering and predictive modeling as part of the trading process. Responsibilities include building and implementing quantitative strategies and simulation models for forecasting prices and outcomes in wholesale electricity markets. Perform in-depth analysis to support price forecasting and develop probabilistic forecasts for the underlying features using quantitative methodologies and tools. Synthesize incomplete information into complex scenario analyses. Prepare economic reports, tables, and charts that present research results and develop applications to monitor, display and analyze data and information.
Education / Experience Requirement:
Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or a related field. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Also requires education or experience in the following:
- Education or experience developing data visualization applications including abstracting principal components from complex data sets.
- Education or experience with predictive modeling including hyperparameter tuning to train complex models including constructing predictive models and data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Education or experience in processing massive-scale structured or unstructured data and creating predictive models.
- Education or experience in time-series analysis (ARIMA, VAR) and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Education or experience utilizing graph algorithms such as Shortest Path, Centrality Measures, Community Detection, and Minimum Spanning Trees to discern patterns, gauge influence, and assess risk within investment networks.
- Education or experience conducting economic analysis utilizing Python, statistical modeling (Gaussian Mixture Models), leading and lagging indicators, and trend and forecasting analysis to understand the probabilistic outcomes for a potential portfolio and/or capital allocation.
Experience may be gained concurrently. Foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable.
