Description
Sese Industrial is a greenfield operation that has an immediate opening for a General Accountant. The General Accountant is responsible for assisting the Plant Controller in managing the accounting activities. This role will be responsible for cost accounting, Fixed Asset accounting, inventory control and cash applications. In addition, this role is responsible for the planning, analysis and reporting of the SG&A spending and is a key business partner to the SG&A functional leaders. This position is also responsible for making recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures. Ensuring and analyzing accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs account analysis and reconciliation.
- Works closely with Supply Chain to ensure a current GRIR account.
- Posts monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.
- Perform credit and collections analyst duties.
- Create and maintain company history files.
- Manage the collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio
- Perform account/payment reconciliations.
- Respond to credit inquiries from external and internal clients and auditors.
- Prepares month-end journal entries for financial statements.
- Process payment runs and schedule fix payments.
- Posting cash transactions, applying customer payments and bank reconciliations.
- Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries.
- Coordinate’s accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
- Posting payroll and taxes ensuring reconciliations.
- Credit card postings and control.
- Fix cost control, forecast and budget.
- Amortizations and FA control
- Reporting at the month end.
- Oher projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance or relevant field
- Minimum of two years' experience including two or more years as in an accounting environment with multi-site locations.
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with ERP systems a plus. (Dynamics/NAV)
- Strong technical accounting framework balanced with a solid business mind.
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, and IFRS accounting rules and regulations.
- Able to respond effectively and discreetly as needed to sensitive accounting inquiries and complaints.
- Highly responsible and detailed oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferable bilingual (Spanish).
- Preferable experience in the automotive industry.
