SIS is currently seeking a Welder - Maintenance Technician to join our team in Broussard, LA.
Summary:
This job description defines the qualifications, requirements, responsibilities, duties and functions of a Fabrication & Maintenance Technician
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a safety & productive workplace
- Troubleshoots and/or repairs facility, operational and portable equipment as defined by the Company
- Completes necessary documentation associated with the equipment maintenance program and fabrication processes
- Control inventory and order shop supplies according to Company procedures
- Prepares material list based on scale drawings for fabrication or construction projects
- Proposes recommendations to improve the equipment maintenance program and fabrication processes
- Fabricates infrastructural equipment to support the Operations Department
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Fabrication & Maintenance Manager
Education
- High School diploma, GED
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to read scale drawings for fabrication and/or construction projects
- Ability to set up a safe and productive work flow
- General knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Weld using stick or MIG methods
- Operates forklift and overhead crane
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisor, and managers
- Ability to work independently with occasional supervision
