Job Summary:
The Fraud Investigator is responsible for detecting, preventing, and resolving fraudulent activities to protect members and the credit union, while also performing essential support functions and collaborating with various departments to ensure effective fraud prevention and resolution. You successfully complete these responsibilities by diligently investigating reported fraud events and implementing swift, decisive actions to minimize financial losses for both SESLOC and our members. This involves leveraging a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of fraud detection methodologies to meticulously examine suspicious activities, identify patterns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including vendors, to develop effective strategies to mitigate risks.

Key Qualifications:
- Experience with fraud investigations
- Understanding of credit/debit card processing
- Experience with COOP and Visa online systems
- Experience with data compilation and analysis
- Experience investigating and mitigating fraud in a financial institution.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, organize and analyze large volumes of data; define a problem and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to analyze data to anticipate fraud.
- Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing to all levels of employees
- Ability to accurately prepare complex reports
- Ability to formulate and express clear recommendations for action, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and move forward with the decisions of others with authority.
Education/Experience:
- High school Diploma or GED and three to five years of financial service industry experience with fraud or card system applications required
