What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class A Driver-Solid Waste position at SET Environmental Inc?
A Class A Driver-Solid Waste at SET Environmental is responsible to:

Safely operate vehicles and trailers in accordance with SET Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), DOT (Department of Transportation) as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws

Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment

Report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to dispatch

Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to dispatch
-
Report service problems, blocked containers, or any potential safety hazards
-
Report all containers damaged and in need of repair
-
Communicate with dispatch to improve route production and communicate the best way to perform your duties
-
Communicate any customer requests with dispatch
-
Deliver and return containers and trailers to a customer’s property in a position that ensures the safe and proper operation of the container and/or trailer

Ensure driveway entrances, mailboxes, or other traffic thruways are not blocked
-
Follow the route as assigned by dispatch and understand the customer’s needs
-
Other duties as assigned

Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
-
Must hold interstate Class A CDL with air brake endorsement; Hazmat endorsement preferred

Minimum 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience in a tractor trailer

Ability to operate manual transmission
-
Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently

Ability to perform work out-of-town as needed

Maintain Electronic driver’s log

Must pass/maintain physical requirements including DOT medical card

Valid driving license with good record that meets SET insurance requirements
