POSITION DESCRIPTION
An Environmental Field Specialist (EFS) at SET Environmental is responsible to:
- Work with the Environmental Specialty Services (ESS) team to determine the best routes for sample pickups and visits
- Ability to learn, operate, and maintain various sampling equipment, including but not limited to testing for total dissolved solids, total chlorine, pH, and temperature
- Work with other team members to review analytical data, map out sample point locations, and prepare written reports for client
- Ensure the health and safety of the crew, customer, and general public, by adhering to SET safety policies and procedures by identifying, communicating, and mitigating hazards
- Complete accurate sample documentation, along with field billing sheets daily
- Coordinate equipment and supplies for project needs
- The support of various environmental projects ranging from, but not limited to:
- Confined Space Entry – CSE
- Environmental remediation
- Waterway response
- Hazardous materials clean up
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a science related field (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or similar subject matter); equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record that meets SET insurance guidelines
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Basic computer and tablet skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe DC / Reader, ARCGIS, etc.)
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER or ability to obtain
- Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
- Ability to perform physical labor as needed
- Ability to respond to out-of-town projects as needed
- Must pass a local, State, and Federal background check
- Must pass DOT physical including drug and alcohol screening
- Industry/Construction experience preferred but not required
