Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment and systems in our production facility. This individual will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations by performing routine maintenance, responding to equipment malfunctions, and proactively identifying potential issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reducing the risk of breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot & Repair Equipment: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, repair or replace parts as needed, and minimize downtime during production.
- Document Maintenance Activities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure that all equipment is compliant with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with production staff, supervisors, and the quality control team to ensure machines and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently.
- Perform Equipment Installation: Assist in installing, testing, and setting up new machinery or equipment in the production facility.
- Respond to Emergency Maintenance Requests: Act swiftly to diagnose and resolve urgent maintenance issues to prevent production delays or hazards.
- Maintain Clean and Organized Work Areas: Ensure maintenance tools and supplies are properly stored, and work areas are kept clean and orderly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, focusing on food production equipment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends or on-call shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments that may involve high temperatures or loud machinery.
