POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Executive is a hands-on position responsible for contributing to the hotel's overall success and maintaining day-to-day activities to ensure that Sales can meet sales goals in accordance to the brand standards and hotel procedures. The following reflects the essential job duties but does not restrict tasks that may be assigned. Duties of this job may be changed at management’s discretion. The Sales Executive reports to the Director of Sales/General Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist General Manager with achievement of annual budget through targeted, proactive, and focused sales efforts.
- Identify and analyze competition and develop new business leads.
- Research, solicit, and generate new leads through research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue streams to meet and exceed lead generation goals.
- Effectively promote the hotel with prospective clients, guests, meeting planners, and groups.
- Plan and execute sales trips, sales calls, and site visits.
- Manage relationships with current and new clients and travel agencies.
- Complete weekly sales calls, action plans, and goals set forth by the supervisor.
- Oversee and create social networking sites: Linked-In, Facebook, etc.
- Prepare and send out direct mail projects, sales packets, and collateral.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate the guest’s request with other departments.
- Answer and respond to incoming telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally.
- Responsible for managing all meeting room reservations and coordinating details with other departments including group agreements and set-up of meeting room: assisting with catering events.
- Maintain and actively use hotel sales and brand systems.
- Group block loading, management of groups, and group resumes.
- Produce weekly productivity reports and monthly group status reports.
- Review weekly sales results and establish or adjust sales plans and goals.
- Ensure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely manner.
- Manage the hotel sales and brand systems and ensure the client’s details are accurate and up-to-date.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory training and sales events when required.
- Promote the hotel through personal involvement in community organizations and events.
- Maintain effective performance under pressure.
- Move, lift, carry and place objects weighing up to 25 lbs. without assistance and more than 25 lbs. with assistance.
- May perform similar duties as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have working knowledge of hotel brand systems.
- This position is onsite. Remote work is not an option.
