At The Settlers Inn, we aim to provide a superlative guest experience, and this mission is what drives us. We are seeking a breakfast cook who will prepare high-quality, homemade breakfast to guests at the hotel.
The Breakfast Cook is responsible for reproducing The Settlers Inn's recipes for breakfast items to exact specifications for our customers and for creating new breakfast dishes for our guests to enjoy. We have built a reputation for impeccable Breakfast offerings and a successful candidate will be able to maintain that reputation. A Successful Candidate is also able to start work in the early morning hours as is typical for a restaurant breakfast operation.
The breakfast cook works closely with our Executive Chef, and has the opportunity to be part of a talented team of hospitality professionals.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, at least one year of prior relevant experience, and knowledge of food safety and handling requirements. Formal culinary training is highly desired. In addition, the breakfast cook must have excellent customer service skills, effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior.
Responsibilities
- Prepares breakfast following established recipes and procedures and maintains a high quality and consistent product
- Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
- Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
- Understands and communicates all store promotions to customers
- Monitors product levels and re-stocks as required, rotating goods to reduce shrinkage
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferred
- One year of relevant experience
- Formal culinary training a plus
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent customer service focus
- Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
