Duties
- Administer medications to patients according to prescribed dosage and schedule
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation of medication administration
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure proper patient care and medication management
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures in medication administration
Experience
- Experience as a Qualified Medication Aide or similar role in a healthcare setting (e.g., assisted living, nursing home, hospital) is preferred.
- Proficient in medication administration techniques and protocols
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices and procedures
- Familiarity with physiology and common medications used in acute care settings
- Experience providing caregiving services to individuals with diverse medical needs
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
