About the Company:

Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc., the second largest pistachio processor in the United States, has been growing and processing pistachios in the Central Valley of California since 1986. Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. has ownership in over 10,000 acres of planted pistachios and currently has the capacity to process over 200 million pounds of pistachios owned by Setton and its grower partners. Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. provides pistachios to more than 50 foreign markets, and through Setton International Foods Inc., distributes a variety of nuts and dried fruits to wholesalers and retailers throughout the United States.

Summary of Functions:

We are seeking Security Guards to personally monitor either visually, electronically, or audibly a variety of assigned areas, or grounds by working in a variety of assignments including but not limited to patrolling inside the facilities (this involves walking rounds periodically and, in some cases, frequently and may involve walking for an extended period), patrolling in a vehicle, other locations deemed appropriate. Some posts require working closely with vehicles and drivers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensures own actions and those of others observe maximum level of safety and compliance.

· Will verbally de-escalate situations to ensure the safety of fellow employees, customers, and clients.

· Examines gates, doors, windows, and other areas of the store to determine they are secure.

· Reports and records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, etc.in accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.

· Monitoring Security Alarm systems, insuring proper function.

· Organizing additional security guards during shut down, holidays or for events.

· Notifies on site individuals of visitors wishing to see them.

· Assists in properly responding to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property, including but not limited to fire safety, active shooter protocol.

· May perform routine monitoring of safety and life support equipment.

· May check heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire, etc., systems to make sure they are operational.

· May also be combined with other position duties

· Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety, and General Safety rules and regulations.
• Compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate food safety regulatory standards as well as company quality standards provided by facility, regional, and corporate quality authorities.
• Knowledge of Setton Pistachio’s Food Safety Management System and its application in a processing environment.

Organization Relationships:

• Reports to: Department Manager

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement or military experience is preferred.

· PREFERRED: BSIS certification

· A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under vehicle insurance policy.

· Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.

· Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.

· Must be able to be on your feet for 8-12 hours per shift. Night shift, swing shift & weekends.

· Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company.

· Interpersonal Skills – Focuses on solving conflict; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to other ideas.

· Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings.

· Written Communication – Write incident logs and other reports clearly; able to read and interpret written information.

· Bilingual, English & Spanish preferred.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:

Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to both cold and hot weather conditions.
Noise level: Moderate to Loud
Description of environment: This is a manufacturing plant environment.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Have the physical ability and endurance to climb ladders and stairways, walk on platforms, catwalks roots, etc. Must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

• Security Guard: 2 years (Required)
• Military or Law Enforcement: 1 year (Preferred)
